Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins is a 2011 Australian feature film inspired by the Kermode and Mayo film review programme. It is a parody of the Harry Potter films yet it also contains many jokes related to the radio programme.
Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins (2011) A nerdy redhead from Cockfosters discovers that he is part of an ancient magical sect. Under the eye of Pentangle, he heads to Australia to be taught the way of the witter by eccentric Bavarian filmmaker Werner Herzog.
Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins is a brave, not to say lunatic, attempt at making a mountain out of a molehill; and while it would have obviously been a better film with another 20,000 or so dollars thrown at it, it contains enough good material to be perfectly watchable.
"Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins is a triumph." - Mark Harrison, The Double Take Movie Show "This has taken on a life of its own." - Dr. Mark Kermode, BBC Radio FiveLive
